Gen’s comedy debut was as as finalist in the 2011 Triple J Raw Comedy Comedy Competition. Since then she has toured solo shows to New Zealand, Melbourne and Perth Comedy Festivals as well as appearing on multiple bills at Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, Falls Festival and Splendour in the Grass.
Gen has appeared on Triple J across Overnights, Weekend Arvos, and the Lunch and Drive shows. She began her radio career on FBI Radio as co-host of Summer Up For It.
In television, Gen has written for The Weekly and in 2016 she co-wrote a comedy pilot in which she also starred titled Rock Bottom. She is currently engaged as part of a team of writers working on a video game based on Polynesian mythology.
Gen has been a guest and contributor to Have You Been Paying Attention? (TEN), The Project (TEN), Celebrity Name Game (TEN), The Roast (ABC2) and Spicks and Specks (ABC).
Gen has also written for the Sydney Morning Herald as a columnist and is represented in the comedy realm and for television appearances by Century Artists. She is currently one half of the Netflix’s weekly movie podcast The Big Film Buffet alongside Alexei Toliopoulos.
