Darren’s directing credits include: Diving for Pearls, Ladies Day for Griffin and The Serpent’s Table (with Lee Lewis) presented by Performance 4a and Sydney Festival at Carriageworks. His other directing credits include: The World Premiere of The Great Wall, One Woman’s Journey for Glowsticks Productions in Singapore; for Hayes Theatre: Miracle City; for Louise Withers and Associates: A Murder is Announced; for Merringong Theatre Company: Letters to Lindy. In 2017 Darren directed the revival of Miracle City for The Theatre Division at the Opera House Studio. In 2018 he directed Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam for The National Theatre of Parramatta and the World Premiere of a new musical All Out of Love (the music of Air Supply) opening in Manila.
In Singapore Darren has directed The Admiral’s Odyssey for Action Theatre; Man of Letters and Pinocchio The Musical for Singapore Repertory Theatre; I Love You You’re Perfect Now Change for VizPro International. Darren is also the Artistic Director of Glowsticks Productions in Singapore.
He was Associate Director of King Kong for Global Creatures, Miss Saigon for Cameron Mackintosh (West End, Tokyo, Korea, Holland and Australia). Darren’s large scale events include The City of Sydney’s Chinese New Year Parade for two years, Sponge Bob Parade Pants for Nickelodeon, Segment Director of the Closing Ceremony of the 15th Asian Games in Qatar, and Artistic Festival Consultant for the Opening of the National Gallery of Singapore’s celebrations and in 2019 the 48th United Arab Emirates National Day of Celebration.
In 2020 Darren directed Ghost The Musical for Toho Productions in Tokyo, Next To Normal for the NIDA Grad show season; the re-mount of Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam for The National Theatre of Parramatta at Belvoir Street and Merrigong Theatre and Double Delicious for The Sydney Festival and CAAP. He is currently in a creative development for a stage adaptation of Colleen McCullough’s Tim adapted by Tim McGarry, a new opera, Riot by Michelle Law and Paul Hodge for La Boite and Opera Queensland , The One by Vanessa Bates for The Ensemble Theatre and YONG for Monkey Baa.
