Andy started out as a dock worker, before realising that being a musician might be less likely to kill him. That turned out to not be the case, so Andy fled to Southeast Asia, and became involved in some businesses that nearly killed him. Then, after nearly killing himself inventing a board game, Andy wrote a screenplay.
Andy’s features and TV credits since then include Lucky Country, directed by Kriv Stenders, Massacre at Myall Creek, directed by Ana Kokkinos, and Under a Red Moon, directed by Leigh Sheehan. Andy was script doctor, editor and consultant on The Rocket, directed by Kim Mordaunt, Last Cab to Darwin, directed by Jeremy Sims, and High Ground, directed by Stephen Johnson.
Current projects in development and production include Liberty Point with FX Cable Networks, Haven with SBS and Hoodlum Entertainment, The Trespassers with Fremantle Media, and The End of Everything with Triptych and Alix Madigan’s Mad Dog Productions, to be directed by Karyn Kusama. Andy is also writing the adaptation of Peter Temple’s final novel Truth, for Triptych Pictures and Hoodlum Entertainment.
Andy has been a consultant and executive for the production and development departments of Screen Australia, Film Victoria and Screen New South Wales, and a regular mentor on the pan-European eQuinoxe Script Development Program.
Andy is currently not yet dead.
